was founded with the idea that being green or sustainable is not an alternative.  The core of our business plan is to help businesses to understand and adjust for the impact that their decisions have on the environment as well as their own bottom lines.

Our Team

Ned O’Rourke

Ned brings a background in sales, marketing, management, the financial and real estate markets and entrepreneurial ventures to EnviroProfit. 

In 1986 Ned entered the financial services industry in as a licensed Stock Broker.  For the next dozen years he served his clients at firms such as Oppenhiemer & Co., Gruntal &Co., Hoenig & Co. and Smith Barney as an equity trader and broker before starting his own boutique trade execution firm which he and his partner later sold to a large international bank in 1995.  He has helped solve complicated financial issues, procured financing and managed funds and fund managers for individuals, businesses and institutions.

For more than ten years Ned has also been actively involved in the real estate industry.  With resume entries of Prudential, Coldwell Banker and major US resorts, his involvement in environmentally sensible infrastructure and site development, along with the brokering of large tracts of land and property for resort concerns has given Ned a unique perspective of the economic and environmental changes and challenges that businesses face today.  During this time his leadership in the sales and marketing of major US resort properties gave him a front row seat as their interest in being “green” or “sustainable” increased.

Ned explains: “This spawned an idea:  Being Green does not have to be more expensive than the alternative.  We can use business’ main motivator (profit) to initiate and maintain green and sustainable practices.  We quickly figured out that we can help businesses profit and save while making environmentally sound choices.”   

This was the genesis of EnviroProfit.  Ned, together with partner, Mike Stratton began the process of creating the relationships and gathering the vendors necessary to provide businesses with the information, product and direction to address any new project need, repair, retrofit, government mandate, environmental cleanup, recycling or treatment problem with a green, sustainable and cost effective solution.  In short, EnviroProfit identifies the most cost effective or profitable green solutions and finds a way, using federal, state, local and utility grants, incentives and credits, when available, to initiative and fund the green, sustainable alternatives available today. Then EnviroProfit leverages the client's benefits by getting the word out with a virtually NO cost, green and effective marketing solution.  The goal is to change the collective thinking one business at a time. 

  Ned was recently quoted, saying: “In each of my capacities in the past I have managed to gather and maintain a core group of clientele that share similar values, motivations and goals.  With EnviroProfit we hope to recreate that same atmosphere with a group of like minded, profit oriented business owners who understand the impact that each one of us has and can have on our planet.  It's the collective attitude and understanding that will get us there.  We will profit from being green educators focused on our clients’ profits and as we can get the word out we will all benefit - pretty simple, really.”

Ned’s philosophy of taking the time to truly understand the things that our clients value, has proven a valuable asset in today’s changing environment.

As an avid skier, mountaineer and sailor Ned enjoys sharing his love for the planet’s wonders with others to see the beauty and necessity of nature.  His personal contributions include volunteering in the public schools, teaching sailing and skiing to children and adult groups, charitable fundraising and Sunday school teacher.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hartford in Economics and Finance; he and his teenage daughter, Katie live in Greenwich, CT.

 Michael Stratton

Mike brings a wealth of experience in both finance and customer service to EnviroProfit with over 20 years of experience in areas related to competitive research and surveys, product development, sales, financial control and customer service.

Prior to forming EnviroProfit with Ned, Mike served as SVP of Research at Asset International Inc., a highly regarded multi-media Company located in Stamford, CT focused exclusively on the retirement research market. Mike’s responsibilities included product development and sales to large corporate clients. In addition to structuring the Research Department, Mike also served as Corporate Controller for the firm during a period of high growth and investment. Mike’s goals during this period focused on creating audit-ability for his firm and optimizing the visibility of the firm’s products to outside clients, vendors, partners, as well as capital investment. In addition, Mike has also held positions with Morgan Stanley and Chase Bank in both control and portfolio management duties.

Mike explains that his vision for EnviroProfit comes from the belief that delivering a green and cost effective solution comes from discovering what our customers truly value. “Given the choice, our belief is that everyone values the benefits that a greener and more sustainable environment can bring our generation.”  As a former SVP in both Financial Control and Surveys Research, Mike understands that a financial manager’s challenges are to identify financial alternatives and hidden inefficiencies. “My role at EnviroProfit is to help demystifying the promise of ‘Going Green’, so we can arrive at a set of actionable alternatives for your business".

Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison University and a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University. He lives in Darien, CT with his wife and three sons.
